About Your Instructor
As a firearms instructor, it is extremely important to me that you feel safe and comfortable both in the classroom and on the range. I also understand that trust and transparency are key when choosing a firearms instructor. I didn't become an instructor to show off. I became an instructor to help my community overcome challenges related to firearms and build their confidence.
I began my career in public safety at nineteen when I joined the United States Air Force. I served as a Security Forces Defender; a blend of security and law enforcement. In 2009, I served a combat tour to Bagram, Afghanistan where I worked jointly with several branches of service and foreign national military forces. Upon return to the states, I was fortunate enough to be selected as the armorer at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma where I worked with a team to oversee all weapons operations on-base; including military and personal assets.
Shortly before leaving the Air Force, I developed a desire to explore civilian law enforcement. After being honorably discharged from the Air Force, I was invited by my family to return home while I pursued an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice. During my studies, I served as a Community Service Officer with the Appleton Police Dept. After completing my associate's degree, my family and I relocated to Arkansas where I became a certified police officer for the Maumelle, Police Dept. I served as a police officer with the City of Maumelle for roughly 2 years before relocating back to Appleton. I then worked as a police officer with the Grand Chute Police Dept. for a short time before I made a personal decision that law enforcement was no longer for me.
After moving on from law enforcement, I entered the private security management industry. I was fortunate enough to help shape the futures of, and serve alongside, several security professionals in that time.
I currently serve a local company in the Fox Valley as a Cybersecurity professional. These skills have also become quite handy as I teach our community to be safer in not only their physical lives, but their digital lives as well.
Without question, my favorite thing to do is be a father and husband to a wonderful family! That said, I do enjoy outdoor sports such as shooting (obviously), kayaking, hiking, camping, hunting, and rollerblading when the weather permits. I'm also an avid RC airplane pilot and enthusiast as well.
Prior to becoming an instructor, I looked back on my career and felt the drive to offer the knowledge, experiences, and training I have received to others. It is my dream to pass on whatever I can to those around me and I believe Fox Shots Defense is a great way to do so!
Thank you for trusting me on your firearms journey. I look forward to training with you!
