About

This in-person, instructor-led "Carrying a Concealed Weapon (CCW)" course will ensure the student has a full understanding of how to legally, responsibly, and effectively select, store, maintain, handle, and deploy a handgun in a life-threatening situation. This class follows the state-supplied curriculum for carrying a concealed weapon in the state of Wisconsin.

The course will take a deep dive into all elements of Wisconsin's CCW laws pertaining to safe firearm storage, use of force, where a concealed weapon can/cannot be carried, and how to properly apply for (and renew) a CCW permit in the state of Wisconsin. The course will also cover which of the other 49 states recognize Wisconsin's permit as legitimate (reciprocity) as not all other states recognize Wisconsin's permit as valid to carry a concealed weapon in their state.

Students will participate in exercises during the class such as loading and unloading a handgun, creating a home firearms safety plan, and stepping through various situations in which students are encouraged to provide their own use of force justification.
